Adressa Review: Have Never Been Better |
|

While not all Norwegian newspapers were equally positive, Lene may in fact look back upon some very nice comments for "Twist The Truth". Like the following review from Adresseavisen in late March.

Have never been better
(Published by Adresseavisen, March 31, 2009)
Pure style pop music in luxurious wrapping becomes artistic highlight.
"Unforgivable Sinner" must be the best and the worst that has hit Lene Marlin's career. First and foremost it was a door opener for an incredible success. On the other hand, it could have been the cause of creative stagnation for a young artist who got famous a bit too fast.

Dagbladet: A Cathedral Of Granite |
|
|

The following is the major Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet's album review of "Twist The Truth" published in late March. The corresponding VG review was published on the site on March 28.

Never before have a Lene Marlin album sounded better
(Published by Dagbladet, March 28, 2009)
A cathedral of granite.
CD: Never before have a Lene Marlin album sounded better. Cool strings intervals, careful dribbling from organs, strumming, gurgling, and plopping, as well as all the other patented, pastoral sounds of producer Even "Magnet" Johansen.
He is building cathedrals where Lene Marlin's sound previously was a bed-sitter. Here accentuates - carefully - elements of folk, country, and blues. Becomingly, elegantly, and very correctly done.

lene-marlin.info A Million Hit Website |

lene-marlin.info scoring over one million hits
(Notice by Tef Johs, May 29, 2009)
Since its launch on September 8, 2008, the lene-marlin.info website has long since exceeded one million hits.
At current, the website of lene-marlin.info has exceeded 1.1 million hits, and counting. Considering the quite low profile the website has in regards to advertising and public awareness, this must be deemed an incredible success.
Obviously, and without hesitation, I would like to give credit to the only person having made this adventure possible: Lene Marlin! Without her the community would not even exist, and there would have been no website needed to be created back in August/September.

With Sorrow And Melancholy: A Swedish View |
|
|

Sunday, 24 May 2009 13:25 |
|
In late April, a Swedish paper published the following "Twist The Truth" release interview with Lene.

With sorrow and melancholy
(Published by Skånskan, April 24, 2009)
That it is hard running away from previous deeds, Lene Marlin still is an obvious example of.
Ten years into her career, "Unforgivable Sinner" from the million-selling debut "Playing My Game" generally is the only thing the average pop consumer is associating with her.
