Welcome To The lene-marlin.info Website Official opening, September 8, 2008
INTRODUCTION
Five days earlier, one of the most remarkable comebacks in Norwegian musical history had taken place. The release of the second album from a million-selling female artist from Tromsø, that nobody had heard a single official word from for over three and a half years. I was approaching this 1.60 meters tall, somewhat shy, but very receptive young woman, as she was sitting down behind a table, giving out signatures to a line of over 500 awaiting fans. As I was having my copy of Another Day signed, and as I was having my picture taken together with her, I knew I never would stop being an admirer of this exceptionally talented and beautiful 23-year-old female star.
I then knew I could never leave Lene Marlin Pedersen behind.
Welcome to the brand new website lene-marlin.info. This site contains a lot of information that I'm hoping Lene and all her loyal fans will find useful. This site is built with a high level of care, accuracy, and love for the artist, her career, and her music. There is a lot to explore, read, and take in on this website, so make sure you take your time to really get to know its features.
FEATURES OF THE WEBSITE
A tracking of current important news articles or major feature interviews, with these articles appearing in its own Stories Of Note box.
A main summary of Lene Marlin's career on a single page, updated to recent times (2008); this could be called her Biography.
A section containing lyrics for all her songs, including bonus songs and songs written for other artists. A detailed account of Lene's History. This is a large section, divided into Lene's Diary, Timeline of Historic Events, and over 60 articles presenting the progression through Lene's history via comprehensive newspaper articles from the time period in question. The Historic Lene section is entirely chronological in order, and the timespan is divided into Three Eras, one for each album released, where Periods have been defined as subdivisions of each Era. The Periods are numbered consecutively, as Period 1 to Period 6, throughout the three Eras. The same subdivision into six Periods may be found on the Timeline Of Historic Events page, making it correspond entirely to the Historic Lene articles section.
A comprehensive Lene Marlin Gallery, built entirely for the lene-marlin.info website, with currently close to 2.300 hand-picked pictures, many of them in high resolution versions, all freely available for download. The Lene Gallery will be updated at regular intervals as new pictures appear in the press, may it be Norwegian newspapers, weekly or monthly magazines, or foreign press. The Lene Gallery have been divided into a series of albums with their own headers, presenting pictures according to time period, album relation, type of original press, or even an album with pictures personal to the webmaster (Tef Johs).
A complete review of every Lene song, through comprehensive album reviews, including the Another Day DVD, is given in the Lene Albums section.
A Sound Of Lene section, offering free downloads of audio and video files in compressed format (zip-files). Many of these items are not freely available elsewhere, and many of these files have not been offered for download on the internet before. No exclusive Lene audio or video material appearing on lene-marlin.info should be used for any commercial activity, as the files are completely unofficial, and have not been endorsed by Lene Marlin or her record company, EMI Music Norway.
A background history of the lene-marlin.info site and a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) that answers some fundamental questions that may pop up is given in the About The Site page section. If you want to contact Tef Johs, there is a separate Contacts page - see also the button on the Top Menu. If you want to read a newspaper article about the closing of the former lene-marlin.no website, you can read the article from Bladet-Tromsø from March 2006, available in the Historic Lene section, Era 3, Period 6.
A fantastically detailed Lene Discography document (Lenegraphy) is offered from the lene-marlin.info server, with a huge thanks to Koletz, member of the incredible Italian Lene fan site, lene.it, who has written this piece of comprehensive information. I hope he will endorse me offering it from lene-marlin.info. It's a very helpful document if you are constantly searching for new pieces of Lene items to buy. You will find it in the Lene Resources menu.
Website links to Lene Italy (lene.it) and Lene's official website (lenemarlin.com), the lenemarlin.com Forums, as well as EMI Music Norway, are also found easily here.
You can also register on the site, if you want to become closer associated with the site, but there is not much in ways of benefits to registering at the moment. You will not be allowed to submit articles to the site, but if there is somebody, over time, who proves themselves worthy, I might consider giving out author status to that person. However, this kind of special member status will not be given out lightly. Extreme Lene interest and excellent English and article design skills will be required for working on lene-marlin.info.
WISHES FOR THE WEBSITE
The official opening date of lene-marlin.info, September 8, 2008, also marks the 5-year-anniversary for the release of You Weren't There - the comeback hit single that became No. 1 in Norway and Italy, as well as on the Norwegian Radio Chart Hit40, in September 2003.
